Beyond Extent's Echoes of the Past - Tree Of Oath

Me, Kateryna Shevtsova, Devin Gee, and Tony Vo were paired together for Beyond Extent's Echoes of the Past Challenge! The premise of the challenge was to create an environment in 5 weeks, using only assets that we created. It was such a cool experience to be able to work with my team and I learned so much! We were also paired with a mentor, Scot Daniel Burns, who helped guide us through some of the environment challenges we faced during production. This 5 week challenge was such a great experience and I look forward to participating in the next one.
Responsible for creating the tree, and the vines. I created the tree and leaves using ZBrush. I then UV'd the tree sculpt's low poly in Maya, and used substance painter to create a RGB-A Mask for the tree's material that Kateryna created. I also used Substance painter to add texures to the leaves for the tree and vines. I wanted to be able to quickly adjust leaves and twigs throughout the duration of the 5 weeks, so I used SpeedTree to create the tree canopy and the ivy vines that were used for the pillars. Kateryna helped make the overall blockout of the tree to fit the composition.
