Created this raven scythe using Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter and Substance Designer. I intended for the model to be a hero prop for a game. Creating a high poly version in ZBrush, I retopo'd the model's low poly in Maya, and optimized the model without sacrificing the quality of the silhouette. I baked the high poly onto the low poly in Substance Painter, and kept the low poly at around 70k tris. When addressing the feathers, I decided to create the texture in Designer, and created low poly cards to create the fanned-out feather piece. The original concept art was found on Pinterest, but I could not find the original concept artist. I did do a paintover to be able to see the image better as well as to change the base of the handle.
